Ulo is an African textile brand celebrating the joy, beauty and narrative of African textiles.

Ulo Founder Dinzi Amobi

Meet Dinzi

Ulo was founded by Dinzi Amobi, a British-Nigerian currently residing in Melbourne, who draws on her heritage to create a more thoughtful way of living, creating and curating simple, beautiful clothing, homeware and textiles.

Our Textiles

Ulo sources vibrant textiles from Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. Dinzi collaborates with local artisans and textile vendors to offer a diverse collection of African textiles ranging from traditional African wax print cotton, commonly known as Ankara to bespoke handcrafted tie-dye textiles.

Ulo's fabric range is now available to purchase by the metre, and is suitable for soft furnishings, interior projects, clothing and upholstery.

ULO Store & Textile Showroom

Dinzi and her team recently opened Ulo Home, a retail store and textile showroom in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

Inspired by the traditional African market scene, Ulo Home is designed to enable customers to explore and experience the joy of Africa, whilst browsing it's extensive fabric, womens and home range.

Ulo Home is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm & Saturday 10am-4pm.

Workshops and textile events take place in the upstairs showroom.

Custom Services

Most recently, Dinzi and the team have launched Ulo's custom service for the home - from bespoke lampshades to custom upholstery and soft furnishings, this service is customised to your home and living space.

Our Values

Community, people, sustainability and a deep respect for heritage are fundamental to Ulo.

Community

At Ulo, our goal is to grow and celebrate the joy of community through a shared love of textile, impeccable design and craftsmanship. Ulo means ‘home’ in the Nigerian dialect spoken by Dinzi and her family – it is with this spirit, that Dinzi and the team set out to create a home for Ulo’s community. From our textile artisans to our customers, those who cherish what we share and make – we take great joy in fostering the sense of community through story-telling, colour and craftsmanship.
